How do I use live assessments?
In the Learning Navigator, teachers have the capability to use live assessments to check for student understanding. Live assessments are available through the Daily Class Activities or through the Course Map page. When the teacher launches a live assessment, the results for each question for the whole class are visible on the teacher's dashboard in real-time.To use live assessments, you’ll need first do the following: Once you are logged into your account, follow these steps to launch an assessment in real-time.
Launch assessment from Course MapClick on the Course Map tab to view the assessment you want to launch. Then click on the Go Live button to launch the assessment.
Launch assessment from Daily Class Activities1. From your homepage, click on the Classroom for which you want to teach.
2. Once you are in your classroom, click on Daily Class Activities. You can either add assessments from your Course Map or from your My Content.
Add assessments from your Course Map
On the Daily Class Activities page, click on Course Map. Select the assessment you would like added to the Daily Class Activities and click the + sign.
Add assessments from My Content
On the Daily Class Activities page, click on My Content. Select the assessment tab and then select the assessment you would like added to the Daily Class Activities by clicking the + sign.
Once students are ready to start on the assessment, on the Daily Class Activities page click on the checkbox to turn it on.
Launching Live AssessmentsClick on the Go Live button to launch the assessment. The Go Live dashboard will update and show you individual and class progress on the assessment in real-time. You can zoom in on a question to see a distribution of class responses. When you see a common grouping of incorrect answers, it’s a great opportunity to discuss this misunderstanding instantly. You can also zoom in to an individual student and see his/her progress and responses.
Click Launch Anonymous to launch the real-time dashboard with student names replaced by student IDs. This view can be projected to a classroom projector so all students can see a live view of the dashboard.
If the assessment was launched through the Course Map, the results are available under the Report tab.
If the assessment was launched through Daily Class Activities, after the live assessment is complete, the results are available that day by re-accessing the assessment's live dashboard. If an assessment is launched live through the Daily Class Activities, it can be used as a check for understanding.
